Shenzhong Passage held a large-scale water traffic accident emergency combat drill

At 10 o'clock on the morning of June 25, the Pearl River Estuary Super Engineering Shenzhong Passage construction area "staged" a large-scale water traffic accident emergency combat drill. More than 100 ships including the Jinxiong tanker and the Baoan Maritime Bureau’s “Hai Teng 1461” tanker participated in these drills including closed air warning, ship collision, personnel falling into the water, ship oil spill by using oil absorbent pads and oil booms. It is reported that this is a large-scale emergency practice of water traffic accidents since the start of the Shenzhong channel project.
The Shenzhong Passgae construction water area is located in the Bohai Sea area of the Pearl River Estuary. It is about 38 kilometers away from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. It is adjacent to the navigation channel, the meteorite waterway and the airport branch channel. The navigation density of the ship is large, and the navigation and construction environment are extremely complicated. In summer, severe weather such as typhoons and heavy rains frequently occurs, which puts higher requirements on the safety emergency work of the deep-channel project.
What is more special is that the dredging construction area of the S09 contract section of the Shenzhong Channel is located in the migration area of the Chinese white dolphins. Once the ship has an oil spill, the marine environment will be seriously polluted, and the diesel will form a layer on the sea surface. The oil film, which insulates the exchange of air between the atmosphere and seawater, easily leads to the lack of oxygen in the seawater, which in turn destroys the habitat of Chinese white dolphins, plankton and fish, posing a threat to the marine ecosystem.
