Jiujiang Maritime Bureau Wuxue Maritime Department actively carried out oil spill drill

In order to improve the overall quality and skill level of the brigade staff and adapt to the new requirements of maritime development, according to the July cruise arrangement of Wuxue, the Jiujiang Maritime Bureau Wuxue Maritime Department carried out an oil spill emergency drill in the waters near the Lidingwu Wharf.
In the waters of Li Dingwu Wharf, the oil spill emergency drill was officially begun. This exercise was simulated the leakage of fuel after the collision of “Wanhuayun XXXX” tanker, and a small amount of oil entered the water body. After received the accident report, Wuxue Maritime Department immediately launched an emergency plan and quickly rushed to the scene to carry out rescue work. On the one hand, the rescuers requested the ship to start the emergency plan, and adopted the measures to put on the oil-absorbent pads according to the amount of oil spills and the characteristics of the water flow; on the other hand, the navigation warning was issued through VHF, requiring the passing ships to pay attention to avoiding the waters of the incident and assisting the crew to find the spill point for plugging. With the help of professional equipment such as oil absorbent pads, the leakage of oil products was completely stopped, and the oil spill in the accident waters was completely cleaned up.
Through the oil spill exercise, it has improved the ship oil spill emergency response abilities of the area, and provided guarantees for further improving the water safety supervision work in the jurisdiction.
