Caofeidian Port Area launched ship oil spill emergency drill

On September 11th, the 2019 Caofeidian Port Area ship oil spill drill was held in the Caofeidian Waters, which was hosted by the Caofeidian Port Area Pollution Accident Emergency Command, and coorganized by the Caofeidian Maritime Bureau. Tangshan Caofeidian Steel Logistics Co., Ltd. and PetroChina Maritime Emergency Rescue Response Center participated in the drill.
 
The drill was simulated when a cargo ship was carrying out oil supply operations, due to improper operation of the oil tanker, the impact damaged the oil tank of the tanker, resulting in about 70 tons of crude oil entered into the sea. The drill was included fixed-line water warnings, oil spill ship plugging, lighterage operations, drone aerial oil spill monitoring, oil spill containment and clearance by using oil booms and oil absorbent pads, and dock shoreline cleanup. A total of 14 ships including maritime patrol boats, simulated accident ships and professional cleaning ships were involved in the drill and more than 200 people participated in it.
 
This drill was demonstrated the modernization level of various advanced technologies and equipment in the emergency response of oil spills, and tested the oil pollution emergency response abilities and cooperation abilities of the emergency forces in Caofeidian jurisdiction, and laid a solid foundation for the sustained and stable oil spill response situation in the jurisdiction.
