2019 Hubei Province's water traffic safety and ship pollution prevention emergency drill was successfully held

2019 Hubei Province's water traffic safety and ship pollution prevention emergency drill was kicked off at the Niutouling Pier of the Shiyan Port.
 
The drill was included life rescue, ship rescue, ship fire fighting, and prevention of ship oil pollution. This drill was simulated two cargo ships occurred collision accident near the Niutouling Wharf, causing damage to the ascending ship cabin, and one crew member fell into the water. Then the ship exploded in the cabin during the self-rescue process, causing fire and fuel leakage. The captain of the ship immediately reported to the Shiyan Water Search and Rescue Center for requesting rescue.
 
After received the accident report, the Shiyan Water Search and Rescue Center immediately launched the emergency plan and set up the on-site command department to organize the troops to carry out the rescue quickly and orderly. “ehaixun 0709” ship and “ehaixun 0718” ship were dispatched to the scene to search and rescue the crew members and evacuate the distressed crew for fire fighting operations. The fishery boat 42994 transferred the drowning personnel to the 120 ambulances; "Yunyang Qingshui 01" ship was deployed oil booms and thrown oil absorbent pads to control and clean up the oil spills at the accident site; the environmental monitoring ship of the ecological environment department sampled the accident waters. After more than an hour of rescue, the danger of the accident ship was effectively controlled and the water surface traffic order returned to normal.
